~"A Day to Remember - And One to Never Forget! A Memorial"

***********************************************************
Exodus 12:12-14  'A Day to Remember...'

In American History...!

*Dec. 7th, 1941 - Pearl Harbor bombed...

*June 6th, 1944 - Invasion of Normandy (Code named "Neptune") ...Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword - landing areas where American, British, and Canadian troops stormed ashore as the liberation of France continued.

*Sept. 2nd, 1945 - Formal surrender of our enemy and signing ceremony aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

The above events happened prior to my birth so I only know of them through information passed down to me and the study of history as it relates to World War II. I am sure our elders, parents, grandparents and friends who lived at that time remember in vivid detail the reports of these events that occurred.

*October 4, 1957 - The Soviet Union launched Sputnik I and the Space Race was on....I was ten years old at the time and this didn't interest me much.

*November 22nd, 1963 - President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.  I remember exactly where I was that day - walking between my second and third period class at Ceres Union High School in Ceres, CA when the announcement came over the intercom system that our president had been shot and killed...silence and disbelief hovered over the campus...then we were sent home to be with our families.

*June 12th, 1987 - President Ronald Reagan makes this profound statement in a speech at the Berlin Wall,

~Impact Asia - Sept. 2010

Sept. 2010                                                Rev. Xenn Seah

As I was talking to Ethan regarding his testimony, he emphasized many times as to how delicate the details are. Ethan and his family are being mightily used of God in China and much of it is in plain sight of the Communist Government. Many details of this testimony will be kept vague to protect the endeavors of Ethan and his family.

Ethan comes from a Communist family and his father actually held position with the Communist Government. In no way did they believe in Jesus nor even entertain any thoughts about Jesus. Jesus was a complete "non-issue" with this family. Thankfully, this family was anything but a "non-issue" with Jesus! He saw something of value in them, as He sees in everyone. Jesus loved them and was reaching for them. Thank God they responded! Many souls in China depend on their response!

~It's Not Easy...

*************************************************************
It's Not Easy...but Important!

~Let's be honestEthics is not for wimps.  It's not easy being a good person.

~It's not easy to be honest when it might be costly, to play fair when others cheat or to keep inconvenient promises.

~It's not easy to stand up for our beliefs and still respect differing viewpoints.

~It's not easy to control powerful impulses, to be accountable for our attitudes and actions, to tackle unpleasant tasks or to sacrifice the now for later.

~It's not easy to bear criticism and learn from it without getting angry, to take advice or to admit error.

~It's not easy to really feel genuine remorse and aplologize sincerely, or to accept an apology graciously and truly forgive.

~It's not easy to stop feeling like a victim, to resist cynicism and to make the best of every situation.

~It's not easy to be consistently kind, to think of others first, to judge generously, to give the benefit of the doubt.

~It's not easy to be grateful or to give without concern for reward or gratitude.

~It's not easy to fail and still keep trying, to learn from failure, to risk failing again, to start over, to lose with grace or to be glad for the success of another.

~It's not easy to avoid excuses and rationalizations or to resist temptations.

~No, being a person of character is not easy.

~That's why it's such a lofty goal and an admirable achievement.

~Sign Me Up Again! by Bruce A. Howell, General Director FMD/UPCI

**The following article is reprinted from the 'OnSite' magazine with permission from the author.

'Sign Me up Again'

          by Bruce A. Howell

Time has speedily passed since the first night I stepped into an Apostolic church in Herrin, Illinois, where Lee Roy and Becky Sherry pastored. I immediately saw our potential for reaching the world through an organization with an impacting sacrificial global outreach. My first Foreign Missions service was in a conference in St. Louis—I think it was 1967 when I was thirteen. I enthusiastically saw in the United Pentecostal Church International an authentic, relentless desire to evangelize the world. I wanted to be a member of such an impressive church. Sign me up, I thought!

Several decades later, I still feel the same way. Not only does our church continue to hold to the same basic Bible doctrine of salvation, it also endeavors to walk in holiness while it maintains an aggressive program of reaching the world.

~CSI - Pakistan Update

Pakistan Update

9/3/2010

This is a brief update on the assessment trip Brother Malik and I made to the Southern Punjab and Northern Sindh provinces where the flood recently passed through. We covered 2,300 kilometers in two days and were in the car for one 22 hour stretch. Although the main floods had passed through eight days before, many houses were still mostly covered by water, if standing at all.
